Camp Quality EsCarpade

At some point in your life it’s likely you will know someone that is affected by cancer. One of the more unfortunate situations is if the ill person is a child.

In Australia, around 750 children between 0-14 are diagnosed with cancer each year. Almost half of them are between 0-4 years old. Leukemia is the most common cancer, with tumors following a close second. Simply put, two Australian families have their world turned upside-down with news of this debilitating sickness every single day.

camp qualityCamp Quality has been operating in Australia since 1983. Their approach is focused on the principles of positive psychology, holding a firm belief that laughter is the best medicine.

As Australia’s most reputable children’s charity, Camp Quality relies heavily on donations. One of their largest fundraisers is the esCarpade.

Over 70 teams spend the year fundraising for this event, with a combined $18 million raised over the course of 26 years.

Each team must acquire a vehicle over 20 years old and aim to raise $5,000 from their participation.

This year, Forge Legal sponsored this worthy cause, donating over $6,800 to our local Retro Rock-It team, helping them smash their goal of $10,000. We watched closely as this 80’s themed vehicle trekked from Bathurst to Wagga Wagga over a fantastic 7-day event.

The Retro Rock-It team have been participating for 9 years, working hard to make a difference for the children and their families impacted by cancer.

Forge Legal’s donation has provided 62 children with access to Camp Quality’s hospital support for a month, offering distraction and support where it’s needed most. As proud family advocates, we are thrilled to have been able to contribute to such a worthy cause.

Have a look below at the great photos from the Retro Rock-It team completing the 3,000km adventure!
