A donation made by Forge Legal helped a local team raise a record total for last year’s Camp Quality esCarpade.
Camp Quality’s esCarpade is an annual motoring adventure that raises money for kids living with cancer, allowing them to attend fun camps, while simultaneously giving their parents a break. The seven-day event attracts charitable car enthusiasts, driving fun-themed cars across the country. Each car must be over 20-years-old and have a driver, navigator, with a maximum of four participants allowed to take part.
The 2019 Camp Quality esCarpade saw participants travel from Wangaratta to Echuca, Victoria via Mt Gambier in South Australia, a journey of 5,682km across spectacular outback routes, raising $971, 988 in the process.
Forge Legal Supports Camp Quality
In 2019, Forge Legal threw its support behind the Queensland-based Retro Rock-It team and its heavily decorated 1994 Ford Fairmont. Forge Legal’s $5,000 donation helped the team raise a touch over $15,000 for one of Camp Quality’s largest fundraising events.
Forge Legal CEO Tracey McMillan said the law practice is proud to support this worthy cause.
“We have supported the esCarpade over the past two years,” Mrs McMillan said.
“One of the main purposes of Forge is to empower people and Camp Quality is actually about helping kids and their families who are going through cancer.
“It is about giving their parents a break allowing them to breathe, while giving the children moments of happiness and enjoyment, to allow them the opportunity to handle the situation a little bit more.”
Mrs McMillan said a family link and life-long friendship with Camp Quality volunteer Damian Sheather were part of the reasons for supporting the cause.
“I’ve known Damian (Sheather) since about the age of three, we used to do jujitsu together.
“From there Damian went on to be heavily involved with Camp Quality, in addition to that he got my mum involved with volunteering and my parents on occasion would go on the road trips with Damian.
“I’m very selective in the charities I decide to support and Camp Quality is a very worthwhile cause.”
Camp Quality esCarpade 2020
Ms McMillan said Forge Legal will support the esCarpade again this year.
“In 2020, we will match every dollar raised by the Retro Rock-It team.”
A veteran of ten esCarpade’s Camp Quality volunteer and Retro Rock-It team member Damian Sheather was ecstatic with the donation, as well as the pledge of support for this year’s event.
“The donation made by Forge Legal helped push us to our highest fundraising total ever just over $15,000,” Mr Sheather said.
“I really enjoyed taking part in this year’s trip, particularly the drive up Mt Hotham.
“Most of all I enjoy the joy of knowing you have made a difference in the lives of kids with cancer.
“I would like to thank Forge Legal for its ongoing support of Camp Quality.”
